Trying to get back in the routine of posting, life keeps trying to interrupt me though. Earl left me at home this am so I can tackle the mountain on my desk. He will be back with Sami around 8am. Won't get much done here then until she goes to school at 11:30. Sami requires lots of attention from her Nana. And to tell the truth this Nana loves her time with her girls. Other than paying the bills I guess it really doesn't matter in the scheme of things if there are dust bunnies everywhere. My housekeeping has really fallen downhill of late.
Jen told Earl that she thinks we should still plan on going south for part of the winter, that she and the girls will be ok without us hovering daily......On one hand I am so looking forward to getting away but on the other I like being needed. Is "daily hovering" a bad thing? There is still alot to do to finish the girls bedroom but maybe she and the girls need some space too.
Well tackle the desk I must dear friends........Hugs, Paulette
It is so nice to have time to post this morning. I usually just have time to read, but have to run before my turn to post comes around. I am glad that there are so many that have a positive attitude on a Monday. I usually take Mondays off as I work Saturdays and Sundays alot. It goes with the territory of being a Realtor. But most Mondays are filled with errands and doctors appointments for mom, DH, and MIL. Today is mine!!!!
I have been trying to get in more exercise as it is my real weakness. It seems to be paying off as I finally got the scales moving a little bit. Whooo Hoooo!!!
I understand that pets can be a pain and a pleasure. We have a 16 year old minature poodle. She is blind and deaf and can be a real pain.
Well, I must go. I hope that ya'll have a great week and I am sending hugs and prayers your way.
How nice to see everyone this morning.
My computer time is not what it once was. I've been trying to get to the gym on a more regular basis.
Whew - back to work to rest from an exciting, fun, tiring weekend!
Friday night we went to the oyster festival at one of the local schools. Delicious grilled oysters, oysters Rockefellar (sp), and Italial baked oysters - George and I shared them all. You can imagine at a school festival the portions were not THAT big, so he also had a serving of chicken/sausage jambalaya. Afterward we stopped at the grocery where I get my favorite protein shakes which happened to be on sale $4.99 a 4/pack. I raked up, 10 4/packs! That should last a while. Back home, I made a German Apple cake with cream cheese frosting for a covered dish dinner at church on Sat.
Sat. morning bright and early I started a pot of chicken/sausage gumbo. George took over so I could hit the sale at Penney's. I found a pair of jeans, two corduroy shirts, and a long-sleeved t-shirt, all for $50.00!!! Stopped at a different grocery for a few sale items. Back home, moved the gumbo to the back burner to simmer and got started on making a pan of beef parmesan to freeze for this coming weekend when our daughter, SIL, and Gabe come to visit. Also cooked some green beans with RoTel tomatoes for during the week. All food cooled and stored, dishes done, and on to 5:00 Mass and the covered dish dinner afterward. The dinner was terrible, at least 15 desserts, and very little food (3 salads, Stouffer's lasagna, a squash fritta - which was good, corn bread dressing, packaged scalloped potatoes, and broccoli with cheese). I went home and ate protein! I confess, I tried a few bites of three desserts. Late Sat. night, I caved and ate a couple of bites of my cake and quickly started with heart palpitations, shakes, dizziness! I am so glad it made me sick. The remainder is now in the frig at work for whoever wants it. It is really good, but not for me!
Sun. went fishing - caught a variety of fish. While George cleaned the fish, I fixed a late lunch/early dinner, and we headed out to the movie last night to see Nights in Rodanthe.
I think I found a way to sleep better at night with my restless leg syndrome - YIPEE! The last two nights I tried elevating my legs on an extra pillow. It did wonders for the legs, but wreaked havoc with the arthritic hip! What's that saying, "Getting old is not for sissies!"
Better get to work!

My cat Tevia can be a pain in the arse too. He was crawling all over us in bed last night. He finally settled down around 4am. He is my prowler and protector of the house.
I am off work today and going to tackle some cleaning. After what I saw at my sister in laws house I am going to keep my clutter down to a dull roar.
Not much cooking gets done in this house. I think Ill make a roast for dinner tonight.
Well I better get moving.
Carla
I can understand about having to get up before most of the rest of the world does, but today I must have dreamt it, but I forgot to switch the on button for my alarm clock this morning and I woke up and the clock said 5:42 a.m., which is an hour and 12 minutes past the time I get up on workdays. . . not a fun way to start my work week, so I took out the train schedule and surrended to the fact that I was going to be late, packed my food for the week, took my shower, dryed my hair and was out the door in less than 50 minutes. . . I had to drive up to Hamilton to catch the train instead of taking the Riverline from Florence to Trenton and which cost me $6 to park, instead of free parking at the Florence park n ride, but I made it into work only 45 minutes late, so all in all that is not too bad, no lunch hour for me today. . .
Anyway, I'm sitting at my desk, catching up on what all happened in your lives over the weekend, as mine was spent doing the things I enjoy doing, such as hanging out with friends, laughing and such, light cleaning this weekend since I went to town cleaning last weekend ;) Yesterday I did a lot of cooking, food preparation for the week, as well as watched the Jets game, what a disappointment, I rarely get to see my team play since I live in SNJ and they are a NY team, and they lost in OT. . .
I had a very emotional WOW moment this past weekend. . . for my birthday back in June I got a gift certificate from my lunch table birthday club for JCPenney's, well I saved it figuring by the fall I'd need some work clothes, well Saturday I went shopping with GC in hand, went to the petites department and took 4 pairs of slacks with me, 2 (14's) and 2(12's), I tried on the 14's and they were baggy in the seat and thigh area, so I tried on the 12's, I pulled them up thinking no way are these going to fit me, even as I easily pulled up the zipper, I was having a hard time accepting that they fit perfectly, I looked in the mirror and cried. When I began this journey, I said I hoped to be a size 10 when all was said and done, well the realization of that is getting closer and I don't think, considering all the stalls and such I've endured throughout that I ever really believed I would see a size 10, so to be within one size of that, is just simply amazing to me. . . In the meantime, I have lots of size 16s and such that need a home.
I hope everyone has a very good day!
Hugs, prayers and positive thoughts, Laureen
My Mantra is that I do not determine my success by the number hanging in my closet, nor will I let the scale determine that success either. . . It is through trial and error I will continue to grow and succeed. . . Laureen
